Fourth-placed Hobart Zebras beat fifth-ranked Kingborough Lions United 2-0 at KGV Park this afternoon, both goals coming in the first half.

Kingborough Lions United rallied strongly in the second half and had Zebras on the back foot for much of the time, but could not find the net.

The Lions went close to scoring and, on one occasion, only a goal-line clearance by Harry Harcourt prevented them from pulling a goal back.

Zebras took an early lead when a low cross from the left was allowed to carry across the goalmouth for Harrison Rhodes to fire home at the far post.

Sam Botte added a second before the interval.

In the dying minutes of the game, Botte missed a sitter for Zebras which would have killed off the Lions.

But, there was not long left to play anyway and the Lions were unable to come back from their 2-goal deficit.

Good comp
Beach beat Sth 6-1 - hbt utd dropped to lower div and sths u16 state team promoted as of next round
No idea re points for the new sth team let’s hope other teams in the comp aren’t hindered
Good win for zebras today

it isn't State team, you may find that only a handful represented the state and one has come from NTE who would no doubt be their best player by miles. you also might find that this team played most of the opposition last year in the 16s anyway.

They are actually an u15 team currently playing u16 and now moving to the 18s.

They have always played out of their age group since they played under 13
