Hobart Zebras downed University 4-0 in a pre-season friendly at Olinda Grove under lights tonight.

The Zebras put seven past another Southern Championship side, Metro, not so long ago, but had a goal drought against top sides South Hobart and two visiting Victorian NPL teams.

Zebras led 1-0 at half-time this evening against Southern Championship outfit University, with Luke Huigsloot on target after 38 minutes.

The visitors added three more goals in the second half through Matthew Pace (68th minute) and Jakub Sklenar (75th and 80th minutes).

Adam McKeown again started on the bench for Zebras.

The win will have given Zebras some confidence as they prepare to meet traditional Olympia Warriors at 4pm at South Hobart Oval on Saturday in the opening game of the Summer Series for NPL clubs.

Southern Championship outfit Glenorchy Knights are in recruiting mood as the season approaches.

The Knights, who will compete with the five NPL sides in the Summer Series, have announced the signing for former player Jonathon Ladic.

Ladic, a midfielder, had spells with South Hobart and Zebras, and has just returned after several seasons in Queensland.

They expect to announce a couple of other new signings soon.

James Wilson, a former South Hobart goalkeeper, who has been training with Hobart Zebras, is reported to be keen to move to Knights.

Clarence have also lost Rees and Lewis unlikely - will be dead last. Committee/coaching side of things needs changes. Committee run it like a social club.
Clarence have never actively pursued players.....asleep at the wheel whilst other clubs get stronger

committee?....do they have one. I thought they were just a bunch getting their kids a game.

Not one of there kids plays senior football, no need to fabricate stories! Move
