South Hobart should be good enough to qualify for the League Cup final by beating Northern Rangers in the semi-final at South Hobart Oval at 2pm on Saturday.

In the other semi-final at Warrior Park at 6.30pm on Saturday, Olympia Warriors host Southern Championship side Glenorchy Knights and neither side will be at full strength.

South Hobart are keen to add the League Cup to their NPL title and will be difficult to beat on their home ground.

Several players are doubtful starters for South Hobart, including Darcy Hall and Daniel Brown, but Ken Morton’s squad has depth and there will be ample replacements available.

South Hobart beat Northern Rangers in all three league meetings between the sides this season (5-0, 2-0 and 3-2) and it is difficult to see the northerners changing the tide.

Olympia will be without ace marksman Jakub Sklenar, who is in Sydney for a week undertaking studies.

They will also miss midfielder Shane Cartwright and defender Paul Stevens.

Stevens requires knee surgery after damaging ligaments last week against Hobart Zebras.

Knights will miss the suspended striker Mathew Nowicki and midfielder Declan Foley, who has undergone knee surgery.

The smaller Warrior Park could suit the Knights’ fast and aggressive style of play and Olympia will need to be much better than they were last week against Hobart Zebras.

Olympia won that game 2-1 but should have lost by quite a margin.

#4 Yes yes you are right. Knight's definitely the better team. If it were not for the referees and assistants the score would have been reversed being Knights 6 Olympia 2. Maybe you can appeal to FFT? Maybe they will change the result?

6-2 not what GK had hoped for. 3 zip at half time Knights came back quickly made it 3-2 but the over all strength of O.W. just too much. Heard some moaning about off side goals, not as far as I could see. maybe close but I've seen worse decisions. some odd refs decisions but nothing that influenced the game. the better team won fair and square.

I wonder if any south players will join Olympia for the reported $700 per game next season.
