James Sherman, Glenorchy Knights’ assistant coach in 2017, has been appointed as the club’s technical director for 2018.

“We are excited to work with James to implement a development pathway from our juniors, youth to seniors and a consistent coaching philosophy throughout the club,” said Knights president, Tony Bacic.

“James will also continue in his role as coordinator of our Skill Acquisition Program for 9- to 12-year-olds and assistant to senior coach Franco Previdi.

“Franco has done an excellent job in leading our senior men’s program over the last two years and we are looking forward to this continuing in 2018.

“Glenorchy Knights’ pre-season training starts on Tuesday, 21 November 2017, at Prince of Wales Bay at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start.

“The complete training program will be advertised shortly. All past, present and future players are welcome to attend.”

Metro’s new floodlights have been erected and all is set for the coming season.

Their previous floodlights were destroyed in strong winds and the Glenorchy City Council has assisted with the erection of the new lights, which are much more powerful than the previous ones.

I'm sure the forfeit isn't the main reason FFT booted Olympia from the big league. There have been a number of infringements over the last couple of years and Olympia are probably lucky FFT didn't list them in Mercury.
eg- The Olympia reserve women were kicked out of the championship last season after 3 forfeits. Would anyone at Olympia like to comment how can it be that the last game was played yet was still deemed a forfeit by FFT?
ANYONE??

No reply ? Must be embarrassing!!

I reckon they have a better chance of having two teams than olympia as their senior core are at Taroona training .
Who could blame them one of ths better coaches in the league.
Reckon South will have mo trouble securing players as Westwood the other coach worth following to a club as players can learn a lot there

Lot more to play out here !!

#34 I think it's been said that Olympias Super league team is going to play championship so I suppose their displaced champ team may like to move across to South.

Tasmania Football really is a joke !
Some major conflicts of interested at FFT .

It is all about to reach a head with a massive fall out at head office.

Long overdue !!!!

No, Olympia trying to make it look like FFT's fault.

Olympia couldn't field a team at senior level, pay the price. deal with it.

I presume thay were the only team to forfeit this year, well punk, any other team forfeit this year. They had 5 players playing for the state.

Why not bring up 5 from the level below then? You can always play with 7 as well.
Imagine if it was another club on the Eastern Shore you'd of course support them wouldn't you?

case in point, who are the teams that are going to replace olympia.

South Hobart in Olympia out

Have they got 2 teams

Quoting Two teams easy:
Can see South being successful with women's team

Sadly South Hobart have not bothered with a Women's program for year's suddenly after a year there rewarded.

I smell a huge RAT in all this process.

Hope this aloud Walter because it's fact .
