A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

A football tournament to raise funds for the Mwarabu family will be held at KGV Park on Saturday, 25 November 2017, commencing at 11am.

Alice Mwarabu, sister of Hobart United’s Joseph Mwarabu, was tragically killed in a car accident last month, just three days before Joseph was to be married in Melbourne.

The tournament will be six-a-side group games, followed by the final.

The games will consist of two 15-minute halves.

It will cost players $10 to play in the tournament and they are guaranteed a minimum of three games.

A BBQ will be running all day.

Team nominations close on 20 November 2017 and Football Federation Tasmania will provide qualified referees for the tournament.Alice mwarabu cup
