Third-placed Glenorchy Knights travel to North Warrane tonight for a catch-up Southern Championship match against third-last Nelson.

The Knights are 4 points behind leaders Beachside but have three games in hand, starting with tonight’s clash.

Knights are also a point adrift of second-placed University, who have two games in hand over Beachside.

This is a must-win game for the Knights as they seek to retain their league title.

“Yes, we looking forward to playing at North Warrane , but it’s not going to be an easy game for us at all,” said Knights coach, Franco Previdi.

“Nelson is a good team and are improved. We will take it very seriously.”

Knights are still without Ben Phillips, Stuart Page, Kurt Engels and Declan Foley.

Rohan Heggie will play, together with Alex Nandan and twins Callum and Declan Brown.

Nelson have lost captain Brad Knott, whose final game was on Saturday prior to moving to NSW for work.

Also out is Angus O'Meara, but player-coach Adam Mills comes back into the squad after missing last week for a work trip with his school's basketball team.

He is likely to be on the bench, along with goalkeeper Ollie Burdon, Angus Anderson, Nathan Wardle, Oliver Lang and Troy Hoppitt.

The rest of the team remains unchanged and the starting-XI will be announced just before the game.

Potentially, there may be an attacking four consisting of the three Mills brothers, plus Colin Jackson.

Jordan Brighella also finished up a couple of weeks ago after moving to the UK for a working holiday, while Alex Finch remains out through injury. He is unlikely to be back this season after leading the goal scoring at Nelson earlier this season.

Ethan Brighella hands the coaching reigns back over to Adam Mill tonight, having taken over duties last week from Adam in his absence, though he will continue to be Adam's assistant on the bench

“The BBQ and hot drinks will be available for anyone wanting to get along for a watch and who wants to survive the cold,” said club president, Toby Colgrave.

Sorry but same 10 players in front of them as have been in front of dimi.

so what? every team concedes chances. The GK is there to stop them. Stats don't lie 7 goals conceded in the 12 games he's played and 7 in the 2 he hasn't.

My point exactly, the second and third keepers just aren't up-to the same standard as dimi. The stats you've provided prove that.

Graham and woodham not up-to standard to step in for Nester. If he retires knights will once again crumble.

Nester won't leave until Knights are back in NPL. He played in the decider to make sure Olympia didn't go down a few years ago and played one of the best games I've seen him play. He's committed to knights and he will see it out. I've played with Dimi in the past . Good bloke on and off the field.

agreed Dimmi miles ahead but the stand in keepers can't be held responsible for every one of those 7 goals in these two games.

And all goals scored would have been simple saves for Dimi

5 direct from set pieces including one penalty.

so funny. Someone concerned enough to turn around the thumbs up/downs in favour of footballfan. That must have taken some effort - a likely turnaround of about 20.

BYE the way, watch one of Knights games in hand disappear this week when Beachside have their BYE and Knights play Metro.
