The draw for the 2018 Lakoseljac Cup was made at Football Federation Tasmania headquarters in Glenorchy at noon today by Bradley Lakoseljac, grandson of the late Milan Lakoseljac, after whom the competition is named.

Olympia Warriors, the holders, are at home to Glenorchy Knights, last year’s losing finalists, at Warrior Park.

New Town Eagles host Devonport City at Clare Street. These two clubs were great rivals in the late 1980s and early 1990s but have had vastly different fortunes in recent years.

There are only two all-NPL pairings: Kingborough Lions United v Launceston City at Lightwood Park, and Clarence United v South Hobart at Wentworth Park.

There are four North versus South pairings. Apart from the Eagles v Devonport and the Kingborough Lions United versus Launceston City clashes, the others are Hobart United at home to Somerset, and Riverside Olympic versus Hobart Zebras.

The only all-Northern showdown is that between Ulverstone and Northern Rangers.

The two all-second tier clashes are Hobart United versus Somerset, and Taroona versus University.

The complete Round-of-16 draw as they came out of the pot, with the home team named first, and which is to be played on Monday, 2 April 2018, is:

Hobart United v Somerset

Ulverstone v Northern Rangers

New Town Eagles v Devonport City Strikers

Taroona v University

Kingborough Lions United v Launceston City

Riverside Olympic v Hobart Zebras

Olympia Warriors v Glenorchy Knights

Clarence United v South Hobart

What about the entertainment on Saturday before the laka cup game between Uni & Beach.
A snake graced his presence on the field and there was a youth game on before this.

Ha. We saw one one the other ground where Eagles played Southern. Nice day for snakes :)

Knights haven't been able to put a glove on Oly for some time now - can't see that changing this time around.

Why is FFT not able to post the Summer Cup Southern table. Is it that difficult to calculate? No wonder people are struggling to maintain interest.
