Hobart Zebras should stay top of the pack when they travel to the NTCA Ground in Launceston today to take on Northern Rangers in a PS4 NPL Tasmania fixture kicking off at the early time of 12.30pm.

Zebras are on top of the standings with 13 points, one ahead of South Hobart and Olympia Warriors, while Rangers are fifth with just 4 points.

The field has divided itself neatly into a top-four and bottom-four and that is how it will most likely stay, with only the order in each group in state of flux.

South Hobart have the most difficult hurdle today as they travel to Valley Road to take on reigning champions and fourth-placed Devonport City at 2.30pm.

Devonport cannot afford to lose as they would drop to a relatively distant fourth and would find retaining the title a bit difficult.

South Hobart need to win to stay in touch with Zebras and to ensure they are not leap-frogged by Olympia.

Olympia are away to Launceston City at Buckby Landrover Park in Launceston at 4.30pm today and current form suggests Olympia should win.

Launceston City are second-last and their form is a source of concern to their supporters.

A fascinating encounter is scheduled at Lightwood Park at 2pm today when bottom-side Kingborough Lions United entertain sixth-ranked Clarence United.

The Lions have been hugely disappointing this season after all the pre-season build-up surrounding their new 21-year-old coach, Gabriel Markaj, and the 12 or so new players he has brought to the club.

Expectations were high at The Den, but it has all fallen in a heap as the Lions have yet to win a game and were embarrassed last week when they lost 10-0 to South Hobart.

This could be a make-or-break game for Markaj, whose reputation could be in tatters if his team loses today.

Quoting The Bottom line:
But I try #2 and thats all anyone can do. Its going to be a lot closer this year than people think.

Have to agree there will be more shocks to come the only thing that is sure is the top 4 and bottom 4 won't change only in positions.
Next time trust your gut feelings.

Bottom line think it time to give up tipping winners.
You got 1 right.
Zebras struggle at Rangers.
Devonport at home and then the who gives a damn game.
To be honest I would have tipped the same almost Devonport toss a coin.
Just goes to show you can't underestimate any team.
Can't wait for the zebras and Olympia fame it would be worth paying double the admission fee.

Zebras struggled away to Rangers last year but are a different beast this year and should be a shoe in.
The Sklenar roadshow will roll on, he really is top quality.
Could be a draw at Port.
Clarence should win here, the Lions are a rable.
