A teacher by profession, but is now in his 37th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

The Mitsubishi Motors Best-and-Fairest Medal winner will be announced at a Victory League function at Blundstone Arena on Friday night.

The award is decided by the referees, who award votes on a 3-2-1 basis after every Victory League match.

Southern Premier League champions University face Beachside at 2pm at Olinda Grove today in the semi-finals of the SPL top-four competition.

The other semi-final, between Clarence United and Taroona, is scheduled for 6pm today at Wentworth Park.

Somerset meet Riverside Olympic in the Northern Premier League grand final at Shark Park today.

In the semi-finals, Somerset overcame Northern Rangers 6-2, while Riverside downed Devonport 5-2.

Victory League champions South Hobart take on second-placed Tilford Zebras at 4.30pm at KGV Park tomorrow in the semi-finals of the Victory Cup, which involves the top-four sides.

In the other semi-final at 2pm, third-placed Olympia Warriors tackle fourth-ranked Northern Rangers.
