On Saturday, Tasmania’s Victory League champions, South Hobart, will host Victorian Premier League champions South Melbourne Hellas at South Hobart at 1.30pm.

Paul Mavroudis, a passionate South Melbourne Fan (his excellent and entertaining website is: http://southmelbournefc.blogspot.com.au/ ) has written the following background piece about the club for me as a preview to this NPL Series clash on Saturday.

Southern Premier League Top-Four Cup Final

University 3 (L Huigsloot 2, A Buga) beat Clarence United 1 (L Asciak)

South Hobart can make it three trophies out of four that were on offer this season by beating Northern Rangers in the Victory Cup Final at 5pm at KGV Park today.

South have won the Victory League title and the Milan Lakoseljac Memorial Trophy, but they missed out on Summer Cup honours.

The number 21 proved lucky for South Hobart striker Brayden Mann, who has won the 2014 Mitsubishi Motors Victory League best-and-fairest award.

The 21-year-old polled 21 votes from the 21 league games he played this year.
