Frontline

Photo:  This group of supporters livened up the evening with a constant barage of chanting, led by the guy with the megaphone, during tonight's Victory League game.  The group of up to 50 fans entered the ground en masse and congregated at the Glenorchy end of the ground before unfurling their banners and attaching them to the cricket nets.  Neither Knights nor South Hobart officials claimed them as their suppoprters but it seems they were made up of teenagers from a number of clubs out for a good time at the football.  Their presence certainly created an atmosphere. Chris hey was on a 3 year plan last year and then got rid of all his young players . Has now got more young players who will be good one day, but not this year. So what is his excuse going to be now.

Hey should step down now.

I am no way a knights supporter but who would you have as coach with the requirements that are now in place, min C Licence and you can say this person that person but have they PASSED their Exam. Well Chris has so give him a chance.

[quote name="Richo"]I'd like to see referees get on top of some of the late/high/cynical tackles from all teams. ... Not saying Caleb's injury was anything to do with a poor tackle, was just an accident, but Andy's was. I noticed the Knights player apologise to him, which was really great sportsmanship. Do a few early yellow cards avert that sorta stuff?

did you notice south players, Liam Scott a prime example, appeal for every single throw regardless of how obvious the decison was, did you see the south fullback continually use his hands to grab hold of the knights player, did you notice knights players getting cards for tackles that south players were doing routinely. shae got hacked from behind as he was running forward and not even a word.

Scotty outplayed Shae in defence & attack and got the majority of balls. Well played south, you were awesome!.

In regards to this group of people only being there to cause problems I find this hard to agree with...
Bad language was used at the start however they were quick to stamp this out once officials informed them that this particular behaviour would not be tolerated.
If cutting the language out is the only issue then really we have nothing to complain about as hopefully the group can self police to create an environment that is good for everyone, no matter age or gender.

Is Aaron Wilson the youngest player to score in the Victory League at 15 years and 8 months?

This kid has blistering pace and enough confidence/arrogance to succeed at a higher level.

Thought you had to be 16 to play v league.... Or have rules changes this year?

Quoting Hoping for better:
The cheer squad may have added atmosphere but being a family event it's a shame they couldn't come up with clever chants rather than crude and vulgar ones. To the match official and the Knights official that managed to curb their intent to be offensive I salute you. I just hope they can become less crude and more clever so we can all, kids and mums included, enjoy and appreciate the atmosphere they seek to generate

Don't get your hopes up, they're only there to cause problems!
