[quote name="TasFootba ll"][quote name="GK"]Readi ng the Mercury today ,.....I agree with what you are saying. I asked the same question to a few media people and was told that there are many articles written by Alex on a wide range of clubs and they are submitted to the Mercury for print. The Mercury then decides what they put into the newspaper. So my understanding is that the article is written by a person who knows about the sport and the clubs etc.. but the Mercury then choose what to print by an editor who has no knowledge of the sport or the clubs and divisions played in the FFT system.

[quote name="GK"]Readi ng the Mercury today ,..... I give credit to people , coaches , players ,and on and on .... But it's time that we read more about our game with all teams involved , nearly one page all about S. H .

AND GEORGE 6/7 of Walters last stories have been about South Hobart - Take him to task as well!

It's actually Broadmeadow (no s), an inner city suburb of Newcastle. You are correct Brian, Broadmeadows is in Victoria. South Cardiff are also a Newcastle team and both play in the NNSW Premier League.

H .ok I haven't a problem with Kenny or S.H.but to have 8 teams involved plus a Lot more in other divisions , I'm not going to bring names up , but let's all wake up ... Are you telling me that 7 Clubs in V.L. Are boring and that they have NO news, if that's the case I'll take all this back?..... All I'm trying to say is..... Read all other sport and it tells a a story about all involved not just 1 team and I say that with respect to S.H.... SNIP..quote]
South Hobart are by far the most media savvy club, and offer the most communication, this is why they dominate interest. It is all part of the PR machinery and it works. The other clubs should emulate and this would give them far more coverage.

All they need do is some thing news worthy George and I'm sure Alex will write it up fact is south are in the FFA cup and are going to be news in the lead up to their biggest game in many years . I'm sure there's more stories out there but some clubs just plod along waiting for news to happen and some teams make the news I'm sure you can work out who they are

I think alex distributes articles between the victory league clubs equally! this is one spread today which is expected with a national tournament game coming up!

Quoting Brian:
It would assist we islanders if FFA and Foxtel identified the league and district represented by the participants.

I learnt today whilst at golf that Broadmeadows are from near Newcastle (NSW) not Victoria.

Watch the game Brian, commentators mentioned where they were from, great coverage & highlights by Foxtel of the games last night.

Verity , surprises , new news , any thing ... Will do but learn to share it my friend as many will stop reading and complain to the Mercury ... Sorry , great to have some one doing the job !! But open your heart and talk about all our Vic .L. Sides ... It's time !!!!!!
