A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

Tilford Zebras and South Hobart face crucial matches in the Summer Cup today [Saturday].

South have the easier task as they come up against University at KGV Park at 11am, while the Zebras have a tricky assignment against Kingborough Lions United at 7pm at the same venue.

Division A (Group A)

Nelson Eastern Suburbs 1 (A Finch) drew with Clarence United 1 (C Brown)

Nelson won penalty shoot-out 3-2.

Nelson Eastern Suburbs take on Clarence United in a Division A, Group A, match at KGV Park today at 8pm to kick off the weekend’s Summer Cup action.

Both sides lost their opening game last weekend and need a win to stay in contention for a semi-final berth.

The draw for the Milan Lakoseljac Cup was made at Football Federation Tasmania headquarters today, as well as the draws for Women’s State0wide Cup and the Under-20s State-wide Cup.

In the Milan Lakoseljac Cup, there were 12 seeded teams and 7 un-seeded teams, the latter playing off in the qualifying round on 8, 9 and 10 March 2014.

Former Melbourne Victory star striker Danny Allsopp will play another game for Launceston City this season.

Allsopp guested for City for one game  -  against Northern Rangers  -  last year in the inaugural Victory League season.

Marijan Bilac, who played for Croatia-Glenorchy in the latter half of the 1960s and early 1970s, passed away in Croatia a couple of weeks ago aged 61.

Bilac came to Australia as a 12-year-old.
