A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

University host Nelson Eastern Suburbs at 2.30pm at Olinda Grove on Saturday in the Southern Premier League competition.

“Nelson was one of the most difficult teams that we played last season,” said University coach, Romilton Amaral.

Glenorchy Knights will be without goalkeeper Sam Kruijver when they travel north on Saturday to face Northern Rangers in the Victory League.

Kruijver has a broken toe and will be replaced by Alex Woodham.

Their quest begins at 2pm on Saturday when they host Launceston City in the Lions’ first home game of the season.

He replaces Brad Chilcott.

South Hobart may be without goalkeeper Kane Pierce for their important Victory League clash with Tilford Zebras at 2.30pm at South Hobart Oval on Saturday.

Pierce took a knock at training on Monday and is due to undergo an MRI scan today.
