Who Is Walter Pless?


A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

Chris Hey has been retained as senior coach of Victory League club Glenorchy Knights for the 2014 season.

His assistant, Matthew Rhodes, has been appointed as the club’s new technical director.

Tasmania's Victory League representative squad which will play Melbourne Victory on Sunday, 29 September 2013, trained at KGV park tonight.

The session included an 11 versus 11 practice match.

Olympia Warriors’ star Sarah Fitzgerald and NTC’s Australian junior international Jessie Williams fronted the media today on the eve of the Women’s State-wide Final, which is scheduled for 4pm at KGV Park tomorrow.

Both players were confident it would be a great final between the two best sides in the State.

Taroona will have veteran and influential midfielder Hugo Luttmer in their starting line-up when they face South Hobart at 6.30pm at KGV Park tomorrow in the Southern Premier League top-four final.

He replaces Sanga Kang, while Tom Young comes in for the injured Jeremy Stevens.
