A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

Tasmanian Victory League champions South Hobart made Tasmanian football history today when they beat South Australian outfit Campbelltown City 3-1 in the semi-finals of the National Premier Leagues Cup competition at South Hobart Oval.

It was the first time a Tasmanian club side had beaten an interstate side in a competitive match rather than a friendly.

Campbelltown City, who won the grand final in South Australia, will be close to full strength when they take on Tasmanian champions South Hobart today in the semi-finals of the National Premier Leagues Cup at noon at South Hobart.

The Adelaide outfit will be missing one striker, who is overseas with a youth side he coaches.

The visiting Sarawak under-20s from Malaysia conducted their first training session at KGV Park this morning since arriving in Tasmania yesterday.

Sarawak will play four matches during their 10-day stay.

The Southern Women’s representative squad which play their Northern counterparts at KGV Park at 2.30pm on Saturday, 12 October 2013, has been named.

Southern Women's coach, Brent McKay, announced the final squad for the North/South game following Thursday’s training.

Malaysian club Sarawak’s under-20 side arrived in Hobart this morning after a 24-hour international flight.

Sarawak will play four games in Hobart over the next 10 days.

Kurt Reynolds is the new coach of Victory League wooden-spooners Launceston City.

Reynolds, a former Tasmanian State technical director, replaces Mark Egan, who took over from Dane Hudson early in the 2013 season.

Nick Owen has been appointed Devonport City’s coach for the 2014 Victory League campaign.

Owen replaced Chris McKenna, who has moved ‘upstairs’ to become the club’s technical director.
