A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

The Men’s Section A Summer Cup competition reaches the semi-final stage on Saturday and the games will be played on the grass of South Hobart.

The Mitsubishi Motors Best and Fairest Medal and $1,000 in cash will go to the top player in the Victory League at the end of the 2013 season.

The new award was announced today at a well-attended media conference at DJ Motors in Hobart.

South Hobart qualified for the semi-finals of the Men’s Section A Summer Cup semi-finals when they beat Clarence United 5-1 in a Pool B match at Warrior Park on Saturday.

They join Olympia Warriors from Pool A and Taroona from Pool D in the semi-finals.
