A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

Southern Premier League leaders Beachside should get back to winning ways when they entertain ninth-placed Kingborough Lions United at 4.30pm at Sandown Park tomorrow.

Beachside will welcome back Huw Jarvis and he will replace John Moore.

The four leading sides in the Victory League should all win on the weekend and open up a gap between themselves and the rest of the field.

Leaders South Hobart are away to sixth-placed Kingborough Lions United at 2pm at Lightwood Park on Sunday and should be too good for the Lions, who are 14 points behind the visitors.

Olympia Warriors collected their second trophy this season when they beat Tilford Zebras 4-2 in the Milan Lakoseljac Memorial Trophy final before almost 1200 fans at KGV Park yesterday.

The Warriors, who won the Summer Cup at the start of the season, went into this final as the underdogs but inflicted a second defeat on Zebras at this venue this year.
