Tasmania has had a football icon, a former Socceroo, in its midst for almost 40 years, but he has never been properly recognised and utilised by the administrators of the game to promote football.

Mike Denton, 68, is Socceroo No. 212 and he won 14 caps for his adopted country, scoring 6 goals.

He is still remembered by Bath City fans for a memorable FA Cup goal he scored for the club.
