A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

Olympia Warriors’ beat University’s 3-1 in a Southern Premier League pre-season friendly at Warrior Park this evening.

University led 1-0 at the interval through a goal by Richard De Paoli, who snapped up the loose ball from close-range after Olympia failed to deal with a free-kick.

Olympia Warriors’ under-20 and Southern Premier League sides will both be in action today at Warrior Park in pre-season friendlies.

The under-20s take on Glenorchy Knights at 5pm, while the SPL side will meet University at 7pm.

The 2013 season officially kicks off next Monday, 11 February, with three preliminary round games in the Milan Lakoseljac Memorial Trophy being played in southern Tasmania.

On 2 March, another match in the preliminary round of this competition will be held at 1pm at Birch Avenue in Launceston, when Launceston United hosts Somerset.

Brazilian Futsal coach Frederico Moreira is in Tasmania at present conducting coaching clinics for the Australian Futsal Association.

On the weekend, he conducted clinics in Hobart, while next weekend he will be Devonport and Burnie.

Tilford Zebras beat Glenorchy Knights 7-2 in a Victory League pre-season friendly played at Cornelian Bay yesterday.

In the Under-20 curtain-raiser, Zebras were triumphant 5-3.

Southern Premier League outfit Beachside beat Victory League club Kingborough Lions United 3-2 in a pre-season friendly at South Hobart today.

Fullback Paul Willcock gave Beachside the lead in the first half, but a great header at the far post by Kingborough’s Tom McDonald made it 1-1.

Football Federation Tasmania today conducted the draw for the Milan Lakoseljac Memorial Trophy round-of-16 matches to be played on 11 March 2013.

The draw was conducted by FFT competitions manager, George Kalis, at KGV Park.
