Third-placed Metro-Claremont threw away the Division One title this afternoon when they only managed a 4-4 draw against fifth-placed Hobart United at home at North Chigwell.

Southern FC, who had completed their program, thus took out the Division title without kicking a ball today.

They finished on top with 38 points from 18 games, level with second-placed Beachside but with a better goal-difference, while Metro stayed third.

Metro led 3-1 at one stage, but trailed 4-3 with only minutes remaining before snatching a late equaliser against the 9-man Hobart United.

Hobart United had two players sent off in the opening half.

The first send-off was in the opening minutes, while the second came on the stroke of half-time.

Metro's scorers were Shane Kent, Trent Knights, Adam Woodward and Dave Morrison, while Hobart United replied through Juma Barabara, Jafari Mwarabu, Joseph Mwarabu and Aubert Ruzigandekwe.

Mick Trotter, coach of Southern FC, was present at North Chigwell with some of his players and they were presented with the trophy by FFT CEO John Boulous.

Anon 6.....I'm part of the 'slim pickings' and it's funny that you think one person has done it on his own.... yes frankie has contributed massively but it's a team game and we have played the best football in the league by a mile(as a team) If we get into the premier league then we will surprise a lot but not ourselves. CHAMPIONS CHAMPIONS CHAMPIONS

Sorry mate , your seniors won yes .
But your clubs reserves struggled to get a full team on the pitch every week and got belted 10 nil every game . I agree ... Slim pickings . Not SPL level

get your facts straight if you want to comment about the club... sour grapes mate... get a life

My apologies ... Sometimes your res got belted 15 nil

we should catch up for a beer and a chat sometime

Then who would rearrange my sock draw?
