Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

Todd Hingston won the George Dale Medal as the best-and-fairest player in the Forestry Tasmania Northern Premier League.

Hingston, from Northern Rangers, polled 20 votes at tonight’s awards dinner at the Country Club Casino, three more than his Rangers team-mate Chris Hunt and Devonport City’s Nathan Gratton.


It was the fourth consecutive year that Hingston has taken out the award.  Last season, he and Mark Baker were joint winners.

Hingston represented Tasmania this year against Melbourne Victory.

The Northern Women's Premier League Best-and-Fairest Award went to Georgia Foote of Ulverstone, who polled 29 votes.

Foote was also the State's leading goalscorer in all senior competitions with 63 goals.

In the best-and-fairest count, Foote finished seven votes clear of Launceston City's Jill Couch on 22, and Riverside Olympic's Naomi Celebre, who came in third with 21 votes.

The Top Coaches Awards went to the two Ulverstone coaches – Nick Owen (NPL) and Michael Foote (NWPL).

Disapointed not to see more game time for Todd in State match. Like all of the subs, should have started. Conrats on a well deserved award Todd. All the best for 2013.

Lucy Foote was equal second in the women's B & F with 22 votes with Jill Couch. It was printed wrong on the FFT website too.
