Hae Song Lee won Derwent United’s best-and-fairest senor award at the club’s presentation dinner last night.

The striker has returned to Korea and team-mate Jeong Bin Kim accepted the award for him.

Jack Turner took out the players’ player-of-the-year award, while the coach’s award went to Song Min Shin, who accepted the trophy from Derwent United’s coach, Hyo Suk Jin.

Derwent United won the Southern League One championship this season, and the club’s under-14 side also won their league title.

Corey Baker, coach of Derwent’s reserves, presented the coach’s award to Josh Lockley, while Dalles Hayes won the players’ player-of-the-year award and Matt Nogajski the best-and-fairest award.

President Ron Cure and vice president Katrina Herlihy made speeches and presented the awards at last night’s function at the Riverfront Motel in Berriedale.

Thanks were expressed to the Brighton Council for a grant of $1,500 during the season.

Under-14s coach Ron Cure presented the coach’s award to Jonty Rowley, while the players’ award went to Brodie Rowbottom and the best-and-fairest award to Fraser Rose.

Jim Mackinnon, the patron of Derwent United, also coached the club’s under-17 side.

His coach’s award went to Vincent Turner, while the players’ player-of-the-year award went to Dylan Benjamin and the best-and-fairest award to George Cripps.

For the women’s team, Jasmine Brooks was presented with the coach’s award, Jaimie Zache took out the players’ player-of-the-year award, and Samantha Awde was voted the most consistent player.

Nikki Hallam was the best-and-fairest player.
