Southern Premier League

Tilford Zebras 2 (K Engels 16, D Walsh 21 pen) beat Olympia Warriors 1 (J Fielding 30)

Southern League One leaders Hobart United may well break clear at the top of the ladder after this weekend’s round of matches.

Hobart United have 8 points, the same as second-placed Derwent United, but they have a slightly easier assignment tomorrow at home against Southern FC.

Devonport City should stay top of the Northern Premier League by beating second-last Somerset at 4.30pm at Valley Road tomorrow.

Devonport currently lead the competition with 10 points, two ahead of Ulverstone, who are at home against fourth-ranked Northern Rangers at 2.30pm tomorrow.

Clarence United’s new Colombian goalkeeper, Carlos Ortiz, will make his debut on Saturday night against New Town Eagles, taking over from youngster Trent Cornish.

The 193cm two times All-American college player, who has been playing in the United States, will represent a huge obstacle to Eagles’ chances.

Glenorchy Knights are at home to South Hobart and Taroona entertain New Town Eagles in the semi-finals of the Milan Lakoseljac Memorial Trophy semi-finals.

The semi-finals will be played on the weekend of 26 and 27 May.
