A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

I wonder how long it will be before Tasmania has an A-League referee?

Some of our referees have officiated in Victoria and some have attended Football Federation Australia functions as nominees for refereeing awards.

But, the ultimate prize must surely be to referee an A-League match and to then move up to the FIFA ranks.

Glenorchy Knights will include Justin Letiko in their squad for Friday night’s game against Tilford Zebras at 8pm at KGV Park.

But, Will Roberts and Tom Sherman are still out through injury.

The Kingborough Lions United versus Clarence United Southern Premier League match scheduled for Lightwood Park on Saturday has been transferred to KGV Park at 2.30pm on Saturday.

The reserves match between the two clubs will also be at KGV Park, commencing at 12.30pm.

Clarence United FC and Tilford Zebras are inviting all members of the Southern Tasmanian football community to join the two clubs in a celebration of Luke Cripps’s life.

The event will be held this coming Saturday, March 24, at the Observatory function room between 6:30pm and 9:30pm.

Shelbi Vienna-Hallam, the 17-year-old central defender with the NTC women’s side, is off to the United States of America on Friday to take up a football scholarship.

She is going to Peninsula College in Port Angeles, which is in the state of Washington, for two years.
