A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

South Hobart should increase their lead at the top of the Forestry Tasmania Southern Premier League standings to 4 points over second-placed New Town Eagles by easily beating second-last Glenorchy Knights at 8pm at KGV Park tonight [Friday].

South could be strengthened by the inclusion of Konstantinos Lantouris from the UK.

Former Korean national women’s coach An Jong Goan watched the Derwent United squad train with the NTC women’s side at KGV Park this evening.

NTC coach Michael Edwards conducted the session while An, who had arrived in Hobart an hour earlier and gone straight to the ground, watched and occasionally stepped in to offer some advice.

White Eagles won the inaugural Radio Rentals State League competition in 1978.

A goal by David Smith midway through the second half gave Eagles a 1-0 win over Rapid to clinch the title on goal-difference from Croatia.

Both sides had 27 points, but Eagles’ goal-difference was plus 21, while Croatia’s was plus 18.

An Jong Goan, the former Korean national women’s coach, will conduct a coaching session at KGV Park tomorrow at 6.30pm.

He will work with the NTC women’s team and the State under-14 and under-15 girls’ representative teams.

The T-League will go ahead in 2013, providing negotiations with a major sponsor are successful.
