A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

South Hobart annihilated Glenorchy Knights 13-0 in a pre-season friendly at Prince of Wales Bay this morning.

South played a 3-1-4-2 formation and introduced several youngsters in the absence of established players from last year such as Tom Roach, Daniel Brown, Shae Hickey, Sam Kruijver, Brayden Mann and Hugh Ludford.

Tilford Zebras’ 22-year-old striker, Jayden Welch, is committed to the club.

“I won’t leave, ever, I reckon,” the talented left-footer said after training on Saturday.

“I’m very happy here and I like the players and boys.”

The Tasmanian men’s Vikings Futsal team have beaten Northern NSW 11-2 at the national championships in Sydney.

Adam Beard netted six goals, Chris Hunt three and Matt Sessay two.

Aaron Brazendale trained with his former club, Tilford Zebras, today, but he hinted that he has not yet decided to sign for them.

“I’ve come back to Tasmania because of an opportunity that has come my way, work-wise” Brazendale, 26, said.
