A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

Northern Rangers are in action in the league for the first time this season when they entertain reigning champions Prospect Knights at the NTCA Ground at 6pm today.

Knights got off to a winning start last weekend and should give a good account of themselves.

Hobart United entertain Derwent United at 2.30pm at Pontville tomorrow [Sunday] in the top-of-the-table Southern League One fixture of the round.

Hobart United are top of the table with 4 points from two outings, while Derwent United made their debut in this competition last weekend with a 3-1 win over Nelson Eastern Suburbs.

Olympia Warriors president, George Mamacas, has resigned.

The 48-year-old announced his decision to the club’s committee on Tuesday night and told the players after the game against Clarence this evening.

His replacement as president is Paul Kaproulias, who was the vice-president, and the new vice-president is Julia Rabitsch.
