Tasmania’s Masters Games team beat Canberra 1-0 yesterday through a goal by Jeff Ireson.

The Tasmanians lost their second match yesterday 3-0.

That defeat was described as ‘a real struggle’ and there were lots of sore players.

Guest player Zlatko Belanic, from Adelaide, who is a goalkeeper, played in the outfield and snapped an Achilles tendon.

He is having an operation to repair the tendon as I write.

Tasmania can make the semi-finals if they win today’s game.  It isthe only match of the day, which should be a relief to the players.
