A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

CSE won their opening game of the Vikings Futsal Super League last weekend when they demolished a disappointing Derwent Storm.

CSE led 3-1 at half-time and piled on five more goals after the resumption to run out 8-2 winners.

The 14-player NTC/TIS squad have returned after spending a week in Queensland for an intense training camp at the Runaway Bay Super Sports Centre.

The two players suffering from long-term injuries were able to train twice a day and had access to sports trainers and underwent full sessions in the gymnasium and pool.

Australia coach Holger Osieck today named a 23-player squad for the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers against Oman (Muscat, 11 November 2011) and Thailand (Bangkok, 15 November 2011).

Osieck has selected all 18 players who were part of the Socceroos squad that recently defeated Malaysia 5-0 at Canberra Stadium in Canberra and Oman 3-0 at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

Eamonn Kelly, the former Glenorchy Knights and Tasmania coach, is the new coach of Tilford Zebras.

He begins pre-season training tomorrow [Wednesday] in what will be his second stint in charge of Zebras.
