Reigning champions South Hobart have one hand on the Forestry Tasmania Southern Premier League title after beating second-placed New Town Eagles 4-1 away at Clare Street on Saturday.

Eagles are now 8 points adrift of leaders South Hobart and there is no-one in sight who can beat South Hobart.

Third-placed Clarence United drew 1-1 with fourth-ranked Tilford Zebras at home at Wentworth Park on Saturday night, which is just the result South Hobart were hoping for.
