Shane Kent, the 23-year-old New Town Eagles defender, has returned to his former club, Metro, in League One.

Kent has been unhappy at the Premier League outfit and he is expected to be cleared in time to play for Metro against Southern FC on Saturday.

Metro coach, Matthew Rhodes, said he was delighted to sign Kent and he would play him as a striker.

“Shane is a useful acquisition for us,” said Rhodes.

“His experience in the Premier League will be invaluable.

“I would also like to wish Jeremy Morris and Geoff Wicks all the very best at Glenorchy Knights.”

Morris and Wicks will sign for Knights from Metro today.
