A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

The South Hobart Football Club unveiled their plans for a new Wellesley Park on Sunday.

Local politicians Scott Bacon and Matthew Groom, Senator Carol Brown and Hobart City alderman Eva Ruzicka were in attendance.

Men’s and women’s Futsal State trials and training are coming along well, according to Corey Smith.

The initial squads have now been selected and are training for the men’s, women’s and youth National Championships in Sydney 2012.  Some very good great players are being assembled for the Tasmanian teams.

The South Hobart under-14 girls’ team have swept all before them this season.

On Sunday, they beat a hard-working Nelson Eastern Suburbs 7-0 at Wellesley Park and displayed all their qualities.
